TrendMoon is based on top of Echo, a decentralized data ingestion network that began development around 2021 when the increasing use of fake accounts and spam bots was first identified as a major issue. These bots were taking advantage of social bounties, creating a need for a more reliable source of social data. Since Telegram was the original social network of the crypto space, it was the natural starting point for us to address this problem.
Echo started by ingesting massive amounts of data from English public groups across Telegram's crypto space. Once TrendMoon had access to this large bank of data—over 700 million messages at the time—it became evident that there were strong correlations between what people were discussing and subsequent market behavior. This was only possible because of our extensive coverage of Telegram groups and our powerful data pipeline, which cleansed and filtered spam, removing fake users and messages to reveal the most relevant information about each project. This cleaned subset of messages provided valuable information that highlighted the true "alpha" that users needed to know. We realized that this type of telegram dataset was unique and not available to anyone and therefore decided to focus on making this data available to everyone.
From there, TrendMoon began crunching the data using a combination of statistical and AI-driven methods, creating multiple complex data pipelines to uncover powerful insights hidden within the data.
